What could be better than tasty boba tea, coconut brew coffee, sweet treats, and art? Oh, and did I mention FREE PARKING in DTLA (what?!) I was ecstatic to be the February Featured Artist of the month at Teapop DTLA!
In the fall, I discovered through their Instagram that they were looking for featured artists in 2018 and applied right away. Thankfully, they accepted!
The new DTLA location opened up last year; the original Teapop is located in the NOHO Arts District. Founder/Owner, Arlene Yuon was so sweet and helpful. Plus, she hooked me up with a discounted boba tea (Yum!) First inspired by Chinese tea houses, Teapop aims to redefine the traditional “tea time” and transform the L.A. beverage scene with its unique menu of fresh-brewed, imported, and organic loose leaf teas and tisanes, served in a variety of styles.

The DTLA cafe’s dynamic space features a textile mural, a performance stage, and comfy seating for individuals or groups. Local artists and free community events are hosted monthly, like Tea & Flow Yoga on Friday mornings! Be sure to check out their Pop Events page for the complete list of events! My artwork will be on display until March 1, 2018. Be sure to check it out!

Before I left L.A. in 1995, The Olympic Boulevard area of DTLA was crossed by railroad tracks and industrial buildings, to the best of my recollection.
It is good to see that it has been supplanted by eclectic art culture destinations over the last twenty years. Let’s hope these can survive there to provide a more aesthetic atmosphere in that part of town.
Thanks for the review. Agreed.
Time to ride the metro downtown to see your art… and take in some delicious food and drink. Congrats!
