After Pastimes for a Lifetime’s‘ successful Portrait Painting Workshop with Eric Armusik last weekend, it was time to put down the brushes and enjoy perusing some remarkably beautiful artwork at Arcadia Contemporary’s Five & Under exhibition.
The gallery opening was held on Saturday, August 17th from 6 – 9 PM at Arcadia Contemporary in Old Town Pasadena. The Five & Under exhibits at Arcadia are my favorite because there is such an array of talent ranging from modern to classical to hyper-realism. There were over 250 original works created by more than 70 artists worldwide with every work in this exhibition priced at $5,000 or less.
Exhibiting artists included:
Nick Alm, Raquel Alvarez Sardina, Ben Ashton, George Ayers, Javier Barriga, Colleen Barry, Jeff Bartels, Bill Bate, Daniel Bilmes, Rich Bowman, John Brosio, Rob Browning, Denise Buckel, Richie Carter, Ali Cavanaugh, Benz & Chang, Casey Childs, Alexander Chistov, Jeffrey Chong Wang, Kim Cogan, Peter Combe, Matthew Cornell, Daniel Coves, Julyan Davis, Shaun Downey, Carmen Drake, Korin Faught, Natalie Featherston, Stephen Fox, Hiroki Fukuda, Nathaniel Galka, Gosia, Jeff Gola, Alex Gross, Toni Hamel, Jefferson Hayman, Lee K, Justin Kaufman, Leegan Koo, Patrick Kramer, Brad Kunkle, Malcolm T. Liepke, Rachel Li, Jeremy Lipking, J. Louis, Rebecca Luncan, Stephen Mackey, Serge Marshennikov, Renato Muccillo, Reuben Negron, Mathieu Nozieres, Derek Penix, Rachel Personett, Bruno Pontiroli, Edward Povey, Julio Reyes, Simon Richardson, Jeffrey Ripple, Artem Rogowoi, Cesar Santander, Denis Sarazhin, Mary Sauer, Stephen Schirle, Loribelle Spirovski, Jesse Stern, Eddy Stevens, Gabriel Tempesta, Hans van der Leeuw, Jeffrey Vaughn, Adam Vinson, Jason Walker, Conor Walton, Shane Wolf, Katie G. Whipple, Aron Wiesenfeld, Brad Woodfin & Dana Zaltzman
It was fun bumping into fellow artists and friends, John Brosio and Alexander Chistov. They both had a few pieces in the show! It is always so inspiring talking to such talented, humble artists. Here are some of my favorite photos from the exhibit. Click to enlarge. Hope you enjoy!
Missed the gallery opening? No worries! The show runs through September 7th, 2019.

What is the meaning of “Five and Under”? At first glance, it would seem to mean that the artist’s age is five years old and under. But that is certainly not the case here.
“There were over 250 original works created by more than 70 artists worldwide with every work in this exhibition priced at $5,000 or less.”
Looks like a great show, lots of great works. Maybe Linda and I can get over there before the 7th. 🙂
Indeed! Maybe next Sunday. 😀
Thanks for asking. “There were over 250 original works created by more than 70 artists worldwide with every work in this exhibition priced at $5,000 or less.” Five and Under refers to the pricing.
Thanks for explaining that. Now I am no longer hung up by that.
You’re welcome. No problem.
What a terrific range of works of art. I enjoyed it all, but the “Lemon and Blossom” painting really got my attention.
It really was. Indeed. Thanks for the kind comments.
These are great paintings! I like the lemon and wreath. Looks like a nice variety of work and nice exhibit.
So glad you liked! Thanks for the kind review.
