Interview :: Pianist Alessandro Vena Update

October 7, 2018 Blog, Featured, Guest Spot, Piano 2 Comments

Blogging is such a remarkable way to contribute and connect to a community. Pastimes’ blog is dedicated to connecting great artists and musicians of our time with my readers. It is an honor to do so.

Recently, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Italian pianist, Alessandro Vena who I had the honor of interviewing for the blog not once, but twice: July 2014 and May 2017 blog.

After the July 2014 interview, I had asked Alessandro if he would consider performing in Los Angeles. He was enthusiastic but did not know where to start. With my recommendations, he was able to connect with Valeria Rumori, the director at the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles and arrange for a recital for them on June 23, 2015. Details on Alessandro’s 2015 concert may be found in the May 2017.

Since then, Alessandro has performed three more times in the USA. His programs included works by Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, and Debussy along with living composers Davide Zannoni, Joseph Lupis, and Peter Fribbins. I’m pleased to update you on his recent concerts made possible thanks to a project organized with Davide Zannoni on contemporary music.

Alessandro informed me that he plans to perform at the Washington Piano Society in July 2019 thanks to Davide Zanoni’s organization. We’ll definitely be blogging about it. Maybe a YouTube of the concert will be available as well.

I am also investigating the opportunity for Alessandro to visit us in SoCal to give a Master Class and concert for my CAPMT chapter’s teachers and their students. If anyone knows a good translator, would you please consider dropping me a line on the school’s contact page? Thanks!

Alessandro Vena is a dedicated pianist and we wish him all the best with his future concerts.
